Fr. Guidry to examine Confirmation, upcoming feasts and holy days

It’s the time of the year for our high schoolers to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. At the next Back-to-Basics talk on Wednesday, April 19, Fr. Mitch Guidry will take a close look at this important Sacrament of Initiation.

He will also look at some of the upcoming Feasts and Memorials, including Fr. Damien of Molokai, St. Gianna Beretta Molla, and the Fatima visionaries.

The talk will be at 5:30 pm at the Queen of All Saints Family Life Center.

–> 1:00 pm – Leave from OLQAS, walking to Sacred Heart
–> 3:00 pm – Celebration of Lord’s Passion (Sacred Heart) – followed by Confession

Holy Saturday (OLQAS)
–> Apr. 8 – 8:00 pm – Paschal (Easter) Vigil Mass – NO Confession or 4 pm Mass

Easter Sunday Mass (OLQAS)

Confession, Lent examined by Fr. Voorhies at Back-to-Basics talk

Fr. Tom Voorhies, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, gave an outstanding talk to a packed house at the February Back-to-Basics lecture. He covered the Sacrament of Confession and the upcoming season of Lent. He also talked about St. Claude de la Colombiere and St. Katharine Drexel.

Epiphany Chalk for Epiphany Blessing to be given

Once again, for Epiphany, Fr. Guidry will be blessing chalk at Mass (Jan. 7-8) for people to take home and use to do the traditional Epiphany Blessing. If there is any chalk remaining after the Masses, they will stay in church for you to pick up during the week.

January Back-to-Basics talk announced

Join us for our next Back-to-Basics talk. Dcn. Ben Soileau will examine the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist. He will also take a look at the upcoming liturgical celebrations, including the Memorial of St. Francis de Sales and the National Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of the Unborn.

“The talk begins at 5:30 pm at the Family Life Center pn Wednesday, Jan. 18. Everyone is invited to join us.
