All of the women from Our Lady Queen of All Saints, Sacred Heart, and St. Joseph parishes (and the surrounding area) are invited to make the ACTS Weekend Retreat from Thursday evening Sept. 28 to Sunday morning Oct. 1.
ACTS stands for Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. The retreat’s goals are to strengthen our faith and its application in our daily lives; to renew ourselves spiritually; and to build strong lasting friendships. The ACTS weekend retreat is presented by lay Catholic women, with the support of a Spiritual Director.
The cost of the retreat is $275. HOWEVER, financial difficulties should not prevent anyone from attending the retreat. If you have financial concerns, confidential arrangements can be made by contacting your pastor.
For more information, please contact Director Sarah Moser Fruge (337.288.1071); Co-director Aimee Summerlin (337.692.4970); or Co-director Dana Landry (337.945.1363).
Mark your calendars: Join us for a monthly, 8-part Bible Study on Jesus Christ‘s nature, personality, and mission. This video series will examine the Four Gospels to see how each one gives us an insight into Jesus as God, Man, Savior, and Friend.
The free series will be the 3rd Monday of every month, starting Sept. 18. It will be from 5:30-6:30 pm in the Family Life Center. If you would like, you will be able to order an $8 lecture guide at the first meeting, but it is not necessary. Please join us and bring a friend.
Be on the look-out for more information about the upcoming seasons of the Back-to-Basics Lecture Series and the monthly Bible Study.
Although the schedule of topics/speakers for Back-to-Basics is not finalized, the Bible Study video series will focus on The Christ: A Faithful Picture of Jesus from the Gospels. It is an 8-session study, with an examination of Christ’s personality, nature, and mission as revealed in the Four Gospels. Read more here.
The Back-to-Basics talks will be every 2nd Monday of the month; and the Bible Study will be every 3rd Monday. They will both be held in the OLQAS Family Life Center in Ville Platte from 5:30-6:30 pm. They are free and open to everyone.
The talk was part of the Back-to-Basics Lecture Series. The next talk in the series will be Monday, March 13, when Fr. Taj Glodd will give his lecture on church architecture (which had been postponed from January).
