The 2018-2019 Back-to-Basics season kicked off with great start recently, as Fr. Keith LaBove examined and explained Catholic moral teaching on end-of-life issues. More than 60 people braved the rain and inclement weather to learn from Fr. LaBove’s 30+ years of experience as a hospital chaplain. He is also pastor at St. Patrick Church in Lafayette.
There are some copies of Fr. LaBove’s handout still available at the Family Life Center. You may pass by during office hours to pick one up.
END OF LIFE MATTERS: Whose life is it, anyway? Must we do everything? Who decides? Does a living will help?
These and other questions will be discussed at a seminar to be offered by Father Keith LaBove, Pastor of St. Patrick Church and long-time hospital chaplain. We will explore basic church teaching on the stewardship of life and end of life care, look at some specific issues that arise, and talk about advanced directives.
The free talk will be Monday, Sept. 10, at 5:30 pm, at the Our Lady Queen of All Saints Family Life Center in Ville Platte. Everyone is invited. FOR THE FULL SEASON SCHEDULE, CLICK HERE.
